About Us

Rajasthan Gokalyan, a public charitable trust, has been dedicated to the welfare of cows for several years, actively involved in cow protection. Notably, the trust has established "Surabhi Sadan Goshala" at Santoshpur, North 24 Parganas in West Bengal, currently housing over 1500 cows, calves, bulls and more.
Traditionally, the prevailing practice involves caring for cows only until they are productive for milk. Once these cows age and become less useful, they are often abandoned to roam the streets, fending for themselves or, worse, sold to individuals who ruthlessly slaughter them. Recognizing the cow as a revered figure deserving veneration, love, and protection akin to a mother, our Goshala is committed to providing a sanctuary for these abandoned indigenous breed cows.
Our initiatives encompass shielding cows and calves from butcher houses, offering them proper care, including nutritious food and medical attention. Despite our dedication, maintaining the well-being of the 120 milking cows in our Goshala proves challenging without financial support.
In pursuit of our objectives, the Trust has acquired 3.06 Acres of land, erecting cow sheds and troughs covering an area of approximately 42000 sq ft. As part of our ongoing efforts, we have established a Bio-Gas plant utilizing cow dung as the primary raw material. The gas/power produced from this plant is utilized for lighting and cooking for both cows and the caretakers. Additionally, a Water Treatment Plant has been implemented, treating water that is then lifted to reservoirs for cleaning and washing purposes. Future plans include setting up facilities for the production of fertilizers from slurry/cow dung.
